Ten years after we'd designed their original range of black and white labels, Richard and Janice returned with a much clearer vision for how they wanted their Rolling Hills brand to be communicated. Their market had grown from just family and friends, their B&B was almost ready to receive guests and their first wedding booking was just months away. Janice explained that guests who visited to enjoy their wines were always mesmerised by the view, especially at sunset. She shared images of their luxury B&B, sumptuously decorated in crisp whites with touches of pale pink against warm timber and modern finishes. It was clear that the B&B was a passion project for Janice, but when she described their vines and the care Richard took to ensure that every parcel of fruit was carefully nurtured to produce their 'damn fine wines' the brand strategy really began to take shape.

Richard wanted to emphasise Delabole Road as the sub brand name for the wines, and Janice wanted bling - preferably resembling rubies. Ultimately, the new labels were inspired by Willunga sunsets, the view, warm hugs and the Evans' love of family and friends. They grow Shiraz and Merlot grapes using organic principles and hand pick the grapes - affectionately known as their little gems. This handmade approach inspired the creation of the Delabole Road vine leaves and fruit, sensitively illustrated by the talented Amanda Hammond. The design was finished off with a blush of sunset and a sprinkling of red foil. Modern typefaces were selected to complement the modern wrap label format and a gloss high build was applied to the brand name, allowing Rolling Hills and Delabole Road to sit proud of the label. The overall tactile appeal of the packaging was rounded off by the selection of a bright white, uncoated paper stock.

Following the bottling of the wines, co-ordinating business cards and stationery were created, followed by the design and development of a website to showcase the B&B and promoted their wines to an even wider market.
